  • Sleeping On the Job

    February 8th, 2010 by

The transit worker didn’t have the brightest idea to be sleeping on the job and  I’m sure many probably skipped the fee and immediately headed to the bus. Although judging by the picture he looks pretty well in his years and as we all know most of the elderly tend to fall asleep easily. The person who posted the picture up wasn’t being all that repsonsible because it did cause a huge uproar, but at the same time it shows what workers are doing. If I had to choose a side I’d be on the ” Twitter Person Side” because it was really the transit worker’s fault. He shouldn’t be payed to be sleeping and if everybody could get away with this fault then one might as well sleep everyday during work hours! Many might not agree with me, but this is just my opinion on this topic and this is how I feel.

    Happy Holidays~

    December 31st, 2009 by

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve actually went back on my blog, but I’m here now. :) I never actually got the chance to wish everybody a merry Christmas, a happy Hanukkah, a great Kwanzaa, and a happy merry great Eid (I wasn’t sure if I spelt all of them right, my apologies). I’m a bit late as you can see when the date this was posted, but it is Christmas break or as I like to call it Ryan’s Break From Torture Weeks and it’s a very busy week for me. My cousins visiting from Toronto, the crazy parties, and not to mention Christmas itself. :) Anyway I was getting a little off topic, but still Happy Holidays!

Oh yeah, also I’d just like to say happy New Years Eve. It’s the last day you will ever experience of 2009 so make it last!

    Rapid Write # 4: Week 3

    December 17th, 2009 by

    4. If you could create your own 2 week vacation, what would you do, where would you go, who would you see and why?

If I could create a two week vacation just for me, I would call it Ryan’s Break From Torture (the torture is school..joking). On those two weeks I would love to travel to Hawaii.I would like to travel by cruise because recently my cousins just went on a cruise and boy did it look like loads of fun from all the pictures taken. Hawaii looks like one of those awesome island paradises where you can just spend everyday just lying there without a problem. Even though you’re just lying there time would go by so fast cause you’re just spending hours relaxing. Once I get to Hawaii I would want to meet a surf instructor because I’d love to try surfing. Its something new to me and it looks like loads of fun. Just cruising along one of those giant waves you see on television just seems so fascinating to me.

My second choice would be just a cruise like I said above. The same cousins also got to dive in the water with a bunch of the harmless jellyfish that don’t sting you at all. They also got to go fishing although it took around ten minutes to catch something I still think it would be worth the wait to have caught your very first fish. :) Honestly those are the only interesting things that I saw in the photos, but I’m sure if I was there to experience it myself then I wouldn’t be saying this. Thats all I felt like saying really I could go on forever cause there are so many places to go, but these are probably some of my most wanted places to go. :) I wish that there was a Ryan’s Break From Torture day, but sadly there isn’t.

Hey, hey Mrs.Smith you had no choice, but to read all that so read this. :) How about you let me have a Ryan’s Break From Torture day. :D That would be awesome so consider it for me! :)

    Rapid Write: Week 3

    December 14th, 2009 by

    2. The Olympics will be held in Vancouver this winter. What winter activity do you think should be added to the Olympics? Why?

I think a good activity that could be added to the Olympic Winter Games would be competitive snowman building! I think it would look hilarious to find people rushing to build a snowman. The only things they could do was use the resources around them. So to find a stick for a snowman they’d have to run around and search! Three judges will give the snowman an overall mark for style, neatness, and use of materials. I would love this idea because if I could participate and make a snowman, I would win the gold! I enjoy making forts, snowmen, and throwing snowballs and hanging out in the winter.

My other idea would be snowball fighting. Again I would find it amusing just to see people having a war with snowball fights. Snowball fights are one of my favourite things to do in the snow (as I said in the last paragraph). The snowball Olympic Games will work like each person will ofcourse have a snowball fight. Once hit you will be eliminated from the round and the game will continue on with the rest of the remaining competitors. Three people from each country will take place and the last team standing takes the medal! These are my ideas that I wish would be added to the Olympic Games!

    This Is It!

    December 10th, 2009 by

    “This Is It”

    By: Ryan Ha

Suddenly I hear “Michael Jackson has died!” I was never a huge Michael Jackson fan. Though after his death many were shocked. Including me! It was a bright and shiny day I was home alone and I was listening to the radio on my computer. The man talking was discussing about Michael Jackson. though I didn’t fully understand the subject as I just turned on the radio, but then I hear” Michael Jackson has died, I repeat Michael Jackson has died!” I wasn’t sure if this report was real, but I waited late night to check the news just to make sure. When I turned the television on I couldn’t believe it was real! Michael Jackson died.

Michael Jackson was surely to be an idol to a great population of the world. He was exceedingly admired for his musical talents and not to mention his unique and famous moon walk! I’m sure he was a favourite musician to all young and old.

Before his death many accused him as a man who assaulted a child and made jokes about him. Now all those people who made fun of M.J. feel sorrow of his death. On June twenty fifth Michael Jackson was found dead in his house located in California. Hospitals rushed and attempted to save Michael though it was too late and nobody could save him. After his death an autopsy was preformed though not much information on the outcome was given.

Many must have been looking forward to attend his concert. Unfortunately his death occurred just about a month before his concert. His death was reported to be caused by cardiac arrest. Unlike a heart attack, cardiac arrest stops your heart instantly. The cardiac arrest was reported to be happened by an overdose of painkillers prescribed by his physician. We still wonder why he was given so many painkillers. These things never happen to stars like M.J.!

His final moments were memorialized by the newly released movie “This Is It” The movie contains all his final concerts and behind scenes all in one. We get to see how he preformed his rehearsals for upcoming concerts.

Even though M.J. was never one of my favourite singers in my life. There is no doubt that he will be remembered as one of the best singers of all time.

    PEANUT MONKEY POWER!!

    November 23rd, 2009 by

untitled Hehe! You may be wondering what the heck is this thing? Well let me explain :) . In grade 5, when I was in Roland Michener Alex Gilmour and I made this drawing up. We called it the “Peanut Monkies!” I don’t know how we made it up I guess we were just bored, but it was fun in grade 5. This drawing was made by Alex. He gave it to me just about a week ago. After all those years we still remember it. :) If you’ve ever seen my science binder it has all our Peanut Monkies on a sheet of paper that Alex drew for me in grade 5. I don’t know why I brought this up, but I just felt it was something unique about my friendship with Alex, I guess. Anyway thats it!

    Lauren’s Blog

    November 23rd, 2009 by

Lauren’s blog didn’t help me much though if I was a teacher Lauren’s post would be extremely useful to me. It gives some useful tips on blogging with a whole class. I did not learn any new tips. As  I said before this post would be a lot more helpful to teachers rather than students. The links given were useful because as she talks about  someone or something specifically it gave me information about who or what. For example the teacher’s link gave me an idea of who she was. I would like to learn how to just make my whole blog more interesting. I want to learn something that can flash and make my blog stand out that makes it unique from others.

You know what? You may have noticed that I just posted this today, but recently I was just looking through my blog and in the posts section apparently this was still a draft. I guess I might have pressed “Save Draft” instead of publish. Anyway it’s here now.
